Annoucing Wrays Principal, Scott Vilé as Judge for the West Australian Innovator of the Year Award 2023,

CORE Innovation Hub is pleased to welcome back Wrays Principal, Scott Vilé as Hot 30 Awards Judge in 2023. This year Scott will be judging the West Australian Innovator of the Year Awards, looking for local WA companies working on innovative technology that will transform the energy and mining sector.

Scott’s passion is in developing commercially relevant IP strategies to protect innovations. As a senior patent and trademark attorney with over 19 years’ experience, Scott specialises in mechanical technologies across a variety of industries and has a strong background in strategic intellectual property development for start-up companies and SMEs.

CORE is pleased to welcome such a highly-skilled professional to the judging panel for the 2022 Hot 30 Awards. Prior to entering the world of intellectual property, Scott was employed as a mechanical engineer in a variety of roles within the mining industry as well as equipment performance monitoring. This experience gives Scott a unique perspective and understanding of the commercial realities of business operations and in assessing and advising on the role intellectual property plays as companies and individuals innovate.

Scott’s experience and career as and IP attorney extends across a wide range of mechanical based inventions across a variety of industries, including mining, oil and gas, medical technology, rolling stock, rail and defence. With extensive experience both nationally and internationally, Scott is able to advise on intellectual property needs and gain useful insight into the rapidly changing IP system of this growing market.

The Hot 30 Awards are scheduled to be announced on Thursday 23 March. Scott will be presenting the WA Innovator of the Year Award in Perth and presenting on the innovation panel as part of the event.
